In August 1993 the fledgling Bogside and Brandywell
Development Association (BBDA) organised the first Gasyard
Wall Féile on the Gasyard site. The intention was to
create a breathing space for the local community and
to raise the public's attention to and awareness of
the potential that the site could offer to the community.
The first Féile was a very
successful one-day event that has since mushroomed into
an annual week long festival of arts, cultural and community
organised activity.
