To enhance the potential for socio-economic development within the Bogside and Brandywell district. To promote opportunities for local residents to network, negotiate and broker, on their own behalf, with external agencies and funding bodies for the development of local initiatives designed to build a sustainable community infrastructure.

 

Our ‘Written Statement of Values and Principles’ declares that BBI :

 

•  strives to advance equality and social justice for all local residents.
•  tackles social exclusion and combats widespread deprivation by promoting integrated planning for combined social, economic, environmental and cultural change.
•  works in partnership with local Community & Voluntary sector groups, Derry City Council, Statutory Agencies and Government Departments to promote the continued regeneration of the Bogside and Brandywell area.
•  seeks actively to identify local needs and devise local responses to meet those needs with the aim of providing services and facilities to improve the quality of individual and community life in the area.
•  seeks to build a safe and sustainable community by fostering full and active citizenship through volunteering, community involvement and local self-help initiatives.
•  is committed to equality of opportunity for all and will challenge discrimination wherever encountered.
